As dedicated educators, Dr. Barbara Valentine and I are excited to be part of the Lightbridge Academy Circle of Care, which embraces not only your child but also your family, our community, our staff, and our owners in a nurturing and supportive environment.

With over 30 years of childcare experience, I find facilitating the growth of children, families, and staff to be the most rewarding aspect of my career. Dr. Valentine, our Director of Education, brings more than 10 years of experience in curriculum development and implementation, classroom management, and family engagement.

Lightbridge Academy offers an exceptional curriculum while upholding the highest safety protocols and fostering an environment that encourages strong bonds of care and friendship. Our owners, Mandy and Shawn Dhingra, are parents of two children, which helps them understand the challenges faced by working families.

Our Seedlings Curriculum focuses on the whole child, covering areas such as writing (Handwriting Without Tears), language and literacy, social and emotional development, STREAM (science, technology, reading, engineering, art, math), and outdoor learning for collaborative learning and play. Welcome to Lightbridge Academy Glen Allen! As the Director of Education, I look forward to developing young minds, while also inspiring a love of learning through our incredible Seedlings Program! Our Infant-PreK curriculum was created and founded on five educational theorists: Jean Piaget, Howard Gardner, Loris Malaguzzi, Maria Montessori and Frederick Froebel! As we are an innovative educational academy our classrooms will include both center and theme-based learning, while also introducing students to 21st Century technology! It is going to be an amazing and dynamic learning experience here at Lightbridge Academy!
